Launched by the Pavillon de l’Arsenal with the support of the City of Paris, the Caisse des Dépôts and in partnership with the Ordre régional des architectes of the Ile-de-France, the National schools of architecture in Paris and the surrounding area and the Urban school of the Faculty of Political Science, FAIRE is an experimental platform intended for architects whose ambition is to facilitate the realization of scale 1 prototypes within the Grand Paris, to accompany and promote applied research and favor the implementation of new processes, materials and construction programs.+

The first call for candidates ended on March 13th, 2017 with 243 projects received and backed by architects, students of the National Architecture schools and by other multidisciplinary teams. The 243 projects were first evaluated and judged by a wide panel of experts that selected 57 projects to be auditioned by the final jury. On April 27th, 2017, Jean-Louis Missika, assistant to the Mayor of Paris and foreman of the jury announced 25 prize-winning FAIRE projects, 1st accelerator of innovative urban and architectural projects.

Inflatable bridge, unpublished economic models, to densify and valorize the suburban fabric, the system of revegetation of scaffolding, a new services providing shelters and shared bikes, participative monuments in enhanced reality… FAIRE will help propel these 25 projects that explore and question the City’s innovative design processes and the architecture of tomorrow.

« During the call for innovative projects “Reinventing Paris”, the FAIRE platform will help provide ample room for experimentation in urban and architectural projects. We want to allow young architects, as well as students, to test their life-size solutions. FAIRE will take on the role of forerunner in Paris, in terms of temporary, tactical and innovative town planning.»

Jean-Louis Missika
