The Zundel & Cristea agency team proposes to install an inflatable bridge with a trampoline over the Seine or Parisian canals. This bridge is an ephemeral, autonomous project with minimal environmental impact.

PROJECT PRESENTATION

The intention of the agency is to invite inhabitants to participate in an unusual fun event connected to the water: an inflatable bridge with huge trampolines, dedicated to the pleasure of seeing the Seine from above.

The Bridge Trampoline made up of 3 inflatable modules with a 30m diameter, similar to huge buoys. A net trampoline is tethered in the centre of each buoy. The PVC buoys are held together by ropes to form a stable, freestanding structure. The project is ephemeral, autonomous and its environmental impact is minimal. It was designed to provide the heart of the City with essential human experiences that create strong feelings, as it pulls on all our senses.

Besides crossing the river, the installation will allow people to experience a view of Paris in unusual spatial positions. Created to cross the Seine at a precise point, it was designed to be able to be installed where requested.

Manufacturers and specialists in pneumatics participated in the project: TP Arquitectura and Ramon Sastre, architect and specialist in pneumatic structures at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. In 2013, the Zundel & Cristea agency realized with them, a 10m buoy prototype which was tested on a pond in Banyoles, Spain, thus demonstrating the technical feasibility of the project.
